A finalist in the Simon Architecture Competition, sponsored by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, this house, designed by Andrei Șerbescu of the ADN architecture studio, offers an unexpected interpretation of spaces with traditional functions: bedrooms, living areas, utility spaces, terraces and passageways.
What is truly unexpected is the way these spaces connect. Their arrangement subtly redefinesthevery concept of living. Rather than being separated by walls or doors, the spaces are brought together through what might be described as volumes of light, creating a relationship between part and whole, and whole and part.
